The Great American Conservative Revolt
9 Principles of the 912 Project
America is good.

I believe in God
and He is the Center of my Life.

I must try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.

The family
is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

I have a right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want ot.  Government cannot force me to be charitable.

It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or the share my personal opinion.

The Government works for me.  I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

We are part of the Grassroots movement to retake our Country.  We want to restore Accountability to Government Stop the Out of Control Spending and Government Takeovers of our Economy and our Rights.
On  Sept. 12, 2001 all of America came together as one.  It was not  about red states or blue states.
On that day we were all Americans.
Our country has never been so divided and out of control.  Bills are passed that have never been read.  Our representatives don't listen, don't answer questions, just repeating the lines handed to them by their political party.
If you agree with most of the 9 Principles on the left.  Take a stand with us to reclaim America and our Rights.
We are losing our freedom with every thousand page bill that passes.  We are losing our liberty with every government take over of business and financial organization.   Every trillion dollars of debt that is allowed to be billed to our children and grandchildren.  We are gaining momentum, ABC reported 2 million marched on Washington on Sept. 12, 2009. Thousands of Tea parties and Rallies were held around the country to support the march.  Town Hall meetings across the country captivated the news all during August.  Join us now, we have a lot to do.

A Letter From Jo-Anne Meyers A Community Leader in Burlington, Iowa. who hosts regular meeting of the local 912 Project.  Jo-Anne is also the organizer for the Burlington, Iowa Freedom Day Rally on July 4th this year.

Dear Conservative Christian Friends in Southeast Iowa and Western Illinois:

I greet you with some ambivalence today.  I'm saddened  by the present sorry state of the economy and I'm grieving over my country's apparent loss of its moral compass.  However, I receive a big jolt of optimism every time I read another letter to the editor that expresses my Conservative values.  I pick up the phone and there's another fired-up American volunteering to help in this cause.  I go on line and see that a dozen more cities have signed up for the Freedom Day tea parties and rallies.  I listen to Glenn Beck and am immediately connected to hundreds of people who have the same concerns that I do...people who are willing to stand up and speak their minds...people with questions...people with solutions...people who care about this country as much as I do!  And that optimism increases as I see that there is a swelling tsunami of non-partisan, truly American patriotism making big waves out there!

There's a whole lot of shakin' goin' on, and, just like chaff shaken from the wheat, so are the growing numbers of Government indiscretions, illegal deals, unconstitutional practices, harmful philosophies and doctrines all coming to the surface and being exposed to the fresh breeze of our traditional scrutiny.  The early tea parties started it.  (Their organizers deserve medals!).  Then more and more tea parties, popping up all over America, and a real grass-roots movement has taken hold and continues to grow and get noticed.

Don't let this movement die out!  We must keep the shakin' goin' on.  We must keep that fresh breeze blowin' and growin"......from a gust to a full blown gale!

As one of our 912ers said just the other day,  "There's a lot of us out there, we just have to find each other."  How right she is!

You can find me easy enough...at 319-753-0455 or at lindyjo52@msn.com.
We need help to pull off a meaningful 4th of July Freedom Rally.  We need ideas, working hands, artistic minds, advice, sponsorships, and tradespeople who can put their gifts to work for this cause.  (I'm hoping a printer will volunteer to print notices and handouts.)  And we also need little ol' you, just to be there on the 4th with your sign held high!

We are an amazing grassroots-type-of-people living here in Southeast Iowa and Western Illinois.  We truly are "extremists"...extremely blessed!

Our president talks of "remaking America".  Let's show him the better way is in "restoring America".

I am, just one of  WE THE PEOPLE,

American patriotism making big waves out there

What can you do?
There are several things that we can do.  Here are a few suggestions.
1. Contact your representatives.  Send an email, call them on the phone, mail them a letter.
2.  Get involved in the community.  Groups like the 912 Project are springing up everywhere.

3.  Attend a Tea Party.

Several of Our troops Died in Afghanistan, and Iraq last week.
These young men were volunteers, America's best and Brightest.  It's important that we remember this is a dangerous world.  It is not just important, it is imperative that we honor our young men and women  as the heroes that they are.  These brave young men made a choice, a choice to defend our freedom and help create a better world in the process.

Our heartfelt sympathy goes their families and loved ones.  We humbly honor their brave sacrifice for us.  This past week, we lost a part of our national treasure that will never be able to be replaced.

With complete respect to our recent fallen I will leave my opinion to another time.
Right now, I ask only that you  give one full minute to think about the singular sacrifice made by these heroic men who will never share another moment with those they love, and consider why someone would be willing to risk that sacrifice.

God Bless all of those who have made the sacrifices that have preserved our liberties, and our way of life.
Richard

We need to learn about our history.  What events brought us to this crossroad.  Why has political strategy become more important than common sense and sincere service to this great nation?

No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.

We have entered into a new and dangerous age of politics.  People are angry, frustrated. and disillusioned by the "Change" and "Hope" the American people were promised.

The Tea Parties on April 15th were a great start.  I know that the liberal media played them down, even insulting the participants.  That is one indicator of the success.  President  Obama took a shot at Fox News and the Tea Parties as well.  If they weren't a big deal, the President would not take time to address them.

"When the people fear the government, that is Tyranny.

Below is a response to an inquiry to Senator Tom Harkin  through his web site.
(My  Rebuttal Follows.)

June 2, 2009

Mr. Richard Gates
3 Connable Circle
Keokuk, IA 52632

Dear Richard:

Thank you for contacting me. I appreciate hearing your thoughts about the
impact of federal spending on our economy and our long term deficits.

In these tough economic times, I believe that the federal government needs
to act to help stabilize our economy. As you are aware, to date, Congress has
passed a number of spending items to help cope with these extraordinary times,
including the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act (EESA) and the American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act (the Recovery Act). In addition, the Congress also
recently approved the FY2010 budget. While I do not support all of the
provisions of every one of these measures, I believe that combined, these
actions will ultimately help to minimize the impact of this recession by helping
credit to flow, creating and saving jobs, and helping the most vulnerable cope
with the effects of this recession.

I appreciate hearing the concerns of many that this amount of spending is
unsustainable and will negatively impact our nation. In normal economic
circumstances I agree, and I do not think we can operate at these increased
spending levels permanently. But unfortunately, these are not normal economic
times. In fact, economists on all sides of the political spectrum agree that in
these times the federal government needs to spend money, and that reducing our
deficit needs to take a backseat in the short term to fixing our economy.

However, once our economy stabilizes, I believe that we urgently need to
return to the “Pay As You Go” system that was standard during the Clinton
Administration. I have long advocated for a return to this system, which
prevents Congress from increasing mandatory spending or making changes to the
tax code without paying for it. This system was largely responsible for putting
our nation on a path to a budget surplus by the end of the Clinton
Administration, and I am pleased that President Obama has also proposed to
reinstate this system.

In addition one of the reasons I strongly supported the FY2010 Budget
Resolution is because it will cut our deficit in half by 2012, which will help
return our nation to long term fiscal health. The Budget Resolution outlines
savings for future generations by reducing how much we borrow to spend on the
war in Iraq, reforming our health care system, and getting rid of wasteful
spending and ineffective programs. It will also raise revenues by phasing out
the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts for those making over $250,000, and ending tax breaks
for companies that ship jobs overseas. In addition, it ends the practice of not
accounting for supplemental funding requests that fund the wars in Iraq and
Afghanistan, which will restore transparency and accountability to our spending
on these wars.

Thanks again for contacting me. Please rest assured that I will continue to
keep your thoughts in mind as Congress continues to consider ways of getting our
economy going again.

                        Sincerely,

                        Tom Harkin
                        United States Senator

My Rebuttal to the Above
Sir,
Thank you for your concerned response, dated June 2, 2009.

I respect your intent, and position, however. I have some concerns that go beyond the governments recent financial insanity.

In this country sir, I remind you, there is only one law of the land.  That is of course, the Constitution.  Business failures are required to seek bankruptcy through the courts to satisfy all involved with a business failure.  Please explain why the interference of the Congress, and the Executive Branch are not a violation of the Separation of Powers.

Second, Providing for local governments in some cases can be validated.  Can you say without a doubt that this "unread" bill will not be used to prop up a state's bad decisions.  If not, then sir, we have been taxed without representation.

As far as "Pay-Go".  I believe this government was already to big, and now has become an uncontrolled monster.  I ask for you support repeal of the 16th amendment, Repeal the 60,000 page tax code, and establish a fair consumption tax.

Sir,  I know the talking points. I need specific answers.  In full disclosure. I will be posting your recent reply, and a copy of this email to my web site, and distributing them both to other friends with like .concerns

If you are concerned about other issues that may very well be important to most voters in the coming election years. Please visit newparty2009.org

Respectfully,
Richard Gates

Comments;

We need fair discussion.  If we are unable to post the opposing point of view, we limit our ability to make an informed decision.  We must respect the position and beliefs of others.  We must also make our voices heard.  We can debate the issues, and we can all have influence. The bottom line, does the argument support The Constitution, our rights, and our sacred liberty.
Call your friends and neighbors, get organized! Let's Vote our beloved "Comrades" out.
It's time that they learn that we are not children to be blindly led into servitude,
but mature and educated citizens of the greatest society on earth!

The Dictator in Venezuela basically said that they have just had a great victory for socialism as it is coming to North America.

The Federal Reserve is going to trade preferred for common stock which gives them controlling votes in how these businesses are run.  It also puts tax dollars given to these companies at greater risk.

Both sides continue to generate Billions of dollars in spending bills and earmarks.
We will most likely have one of two energy solutions imposed on us. Either Cap and Tax, or a flurry of new EPA regulations that will tax every business and every household in the country.

Tobacco users, the majority are middle to low income, have seen huge increases in taxes on tobacco products in effect a tax on the poor.

Conservative Americans held peaceful protests all over the country that were orderly and a real grassroots effort to draw attention to the dissatisfaction.  They have been greatly dismissed or minimized by career politicians

Let's send a clear message to Washington D. C.

REPEAL ALL SPENDING BILLS AND START OVER.
Freeze spending at last year's budget level.

Censure all in Congress that voted for the huge spending bill without reading it.
Congress showed gross negligence in voting on unknown issues that demonstrate their unwillingness to faithfully perform the duty of their office and truly represent their constituents and the nation's best interest.
